Race 8

HEZA ZOOMER began awkwardly.  Approaching the bottom turn when vying for the lead both BLACK COUGAR and VOODOO PRINCE bumped for some distance with both runners becoming unbalanced.  At the same stage when racing in a rearward position ELMOTION ran wide and lost ground.  Passing the catching pen MISTER LANE was tightened for room by QUEEN’S REWARD and then checked off that runner’s heels.  A short distance later BAR ROOM QUEEN was severely checked and lost ground when BLACK COUGAR shifted ground inwards.  Approaching the 600m boxes when vying for the lead BLACK COUGAR and VOODOO PRINCE collided which resulted in both runners to shift ground and become unbalanced.  Over the concluding stages QUEEN’S REWARD became unbalanced and shifted ground outwards.

Stewards questioned the trainer’s representative of QUEEN’S REWARD Mr. Tony McCabe regarding the actions of QUEEN’S REWARD over the concluding stages.  After hearing evidence from Mr. McCabe and after viewing the official race footage, stewards took no action other than to advise him the greyhound’s future performances would be closely monitored.
