The following greyhounds were sent to the veterinary surgeon upon completion of their event, but were not found to be suffering any injury.
Race 2 SLINKY DINK
Race 2 SEA FIFTEEN
Race 4 BOWSER
Race 4 SIR FRANKLIN Injured in running, off fore leg, 14 days
Race 7 STYLISH CYCLONE Injured in running, off hind back muscle, 6 weeks
HONEY RYDER began awkwardly. Approaching the bottom turn HONEY RYDER and UNEEK FIZEEK collided heavily.
This race was delayed approximately 10 minutes due to a 520m starting box malfunction.
SEA FIFTEEN was very slow to begin. After entering the back straight SLINKY DINK and FAT MAX raced tight and bumped. Shortly afterwards both runners were checked wide on the track losing significant ground. Approaching the 630m boxes SLINKY DINK was checked losing significant ground when tightened for room between both FAT MAX and SEA FIFTEEN. For the entire length of the home straight SLINKY DINK, FAT MAX and SEA FIFTEEN all bumped.
Race 3
This race was delayed approximately 7 minutes due to a break in the lure arm. A replacement lure was utilized and tested prior to the running of Race 3.
BADEN DASH began awkwardly. Approaching the bottom turn BADEN DASH improved onto the heels of ARNOLD and dragged that runner down resulting in both these runners to lose ground. These 2 runners continued to race tight for some distance.
Race 4
BOWSER stumbled at the start losing significant ground. Approaching the bottom turn as a result of ENCHANTED MISS shifting ground off the inside both FOOL’S FLASH and MAYWYN GOER were checked losing ground. Approaching the 630m boxes SIR FRANKLIN faltered, commenced to lose ground and took no further competitive part in the event. In this incident both BOWSER and HANSON INO were hampered.
Race 5
NORTHERN SPICE was very slow to begin. Shortly after the start GIRA FURY lost ground when ALDAMO shifted ground inwards. In a general scrimmage approaching the bottom turn POLDAR ENFORCER lost ground whilst VELOCITY FORCE was checked wide on the track. In this incident both GIRA FURY and POP TOP which were following were also forced very wide on the track losing significant ground.
Race 6
The greyhound WHAT’S A BUDGET had it’s papers endorsed ‘hard to box’.
AMERICAN ZEPHA was slow to begin. Rounding the 1st turn in a general scrimmage I’M SHELLY, NEW CHAPTER and CORSER all lost ground.
Race 7
Even start. Rounding the 1st turn SHAKE IT BABY shifted ground outwards and as a result bumped with YEAH SHE DOES and STROKER. After entering the back straight whilst leading the event STYLISH CYCLONE faltered commenced to lose ground and took no further competitive part in the event. In this incident SHAKE IT BABY improved onto the heels of STYLISH CYCLONE and lost ground.
Race 8
DEEP HEAT jumped sideways at the start losing ground. Approaching the bottom turn MISS AMY JADE was tightened for room when TAP AN RACK shifted ground inwards. Approaching the 630m boxes YOLEE lost ground when DEEP HEAT shifted ground inwards. In this incident PRINCESS PAMELA which was following was hampered for some distance. Rounding the home turn DEEP HEAT collided heavily with SWEET AS ME while at the same stage HAVA BLUE ran very wide of it’s own accord.
Race 9
STAMINATOR missed the start.
Race 10
On the turn out of the straight PUSH TO PASS moved out forcing RED HOT DOOLEY wide. PUSH TO PASS raced wide through the catching pen. In the back straight UNEEK BLOKE moved out and checked UNEEK HOPE. Approaching the 630m boxes UNEEK HOPE checked off the heels of BEST INTENTION. In the turn into the home straight UNEEK BLOKE, BEST INTENTION and RED HOT DOOLEY all bumped. PUSS TO PASS raced wide in the home straight.
