The following greyhounds were sent to the veterinary surgeon upon completion of their event, but were not found to be suffering any injury.

GENERAL

 

 

Race 1

Both JEDI DESTROYER and RED WILLOW were slow to begin.  In a general scrimmage on the 1st turn all runners with the exception of VILLAGE TERROR, LITTLE PUZZLE and JEDI DESTROYER lost ground.  Approaching the 600m boxes SHORT DELUSION ran up onto the heels of FLAMING ENFORCER and as a result was checked.

 

Race 2

Both IKEBANA and BONDI BLONDE collided shortly after the start.  A short distance later in a general scrimmage COOL ZINGER, PERFECT STRIKE and MAC RULES all lost ground.  BONDI BLONDE which was following was also severely checked and lost considerable ground.  Approaching the 600m boxes COOL ZINGER was tightened for room by JOHNNY PAY DAY which shifted ground inwards and as a result both RUBBER TREE ANT and IKEBANA were severely checked with both almost falling.

 

Race 3

Even start.  Passing the catching pen when racing in a rearward position BURNING QUESTION and MANITINE MISS collided which resulted in both runners to become unbalanced and lose ground.  A short distance later MANITINE MISS improved onto the heels of BURNING QUESTION and stumbled.  Approaching the 600m boxes both LONSOB BABY and MISS TISHA were checked and lost ground when HONEST COIN shifted ground inwards.  Over the concluding stages LONSOB BABY checked off the heels of GRACE BABY and became unbalanced.

 

Race 4

Due to a timing error this race was hand timed.

 

Even start.  Rounding the bottom turn PICKETT’S CHARGE was hampered when attempting to improve on the outside of GROWTH STATE.

 

Race 5

WHO’S YA BEARING was slow to begin.  On the 1st turn STAR KINGDOM checked off the heels of WHO’S YA BEARING and as a result forced AMALFI RHTYHM wider on the track.  Approaching the 600m boxes WHO’S YA BEARING, ZANE’S BOY and BLUE MODEL all raced tight.  Approaching the home turn ZANE’S BOY was checked and lost ground when WHO’S YA BEARING shifted ground inwards.  After entering the home straight when racing in a rearward position both PILGRIM’S LEGACY and ZANE’S BOY raced tight and continued to do so for the remainder of the event.

 

Race 6

Both COME UP UNO and PUSH TO PASS were slow to begin.  Approaching the bottom turn VADA STAR shifted ground outwards and as a result checked FUNKY BOY.  In this incident COME UP UNO which was following collided with FUNKY BOY and lost ground.  Approaching the 600m boxes JAY JAYS’ JET was tightened for room by JUST SPUD which shifted ground inwards.  In this incident JAY JAY’S JET and SPIDERMAN TWO which was following were checked, losing significant ground, whilst JUST SPUD became unbalanced and shifted ground.

 

Stewards questioned trainer Mr. Gregory Kennedy regarding the performance of the greyhound JUST SPUD approaching the home turn. Mr. Kennedy stated in his opinion JUST SPUD was clipped from behind by JAY JAY’S JET, then became unbalanced and shifted some ground. Mr. Kennedy’s explanation was noted, however was advised the greyhounds future race performances would be closely monitored.

 

Race 7

In a general scrimmage shortly after the start all runners with the exception of DEAGON SHADOW, LITTLE BIT RED and CLARRIE EARLY lost ground.  A short distance later POLDAR BLACK shifted ground outwards and checked READY STEADY which lost ground.  Approaching the 600m boxes READY STEADY was tightened for room by POLDAR BLACK whilst both STYLISH ROVER and TEJAY’S ASSASSIN were hampered.

 

Race 8

HEY TAXI was slow to begin.  Shortly after the start as a result of SMART BLONDE attempting to shift ground outwards SIDEWAYS, TARZANE’S GIRL, HEY TAXI and SERBIAN KNIGHT were all checked.  Approaching the 600m boxes when racing in a rearward position SERBIAN KNIGHT improved onto the heels of HEY TAXI and dragged that runner down resulting in both runners to lose significant ground.

 

Race 9

ITALIAN BELLA and BLUE HUSTLER were slow to begin.  Approaching the bottom turn when racing in a rearward position ITALIAN BELLA and BLUE HUSTLER collided heavily which resulted in BLUE HUSTLER to lose significant ground.  Approaching the home turn ITALIAN BELLA was held up for a clear run.

 

Race 10

PAKEMINSIN, BOLINISI SILVER and BEAU ROAD were all slow to begin.  Approaching the bottom turn GOMEZ faltered then commenced to lose ground taking no further competitive part in the event.  At the same stage as a result of FOOLSBY shifting ground outwards both TEXAS RANGER and BEAU ROAD were severely checked and lost ground.  Approaching the 600m boxes PAKEMINSIN was severely checked when TEXAS RANGER shifted ground inwards.  As a result PAKEMINSIN then shifted ground outwards and collided heavily with BEAU ROAD.
