VETERINARY EXAMINATIONS

 

The following greyhounds were sent to the veterinary surgeon upon completion of their event, but were not found to be suffering any injury.

GENERAL

 

 

Race 1

ROLLING DICE was slow to begin.  Shortly after the start ASTRO HARDY was checked losing ground when GWAPO shifted ground inwards.  Rounding the bottom turn KING EMMANUAL checked off the heels of GWAPO and lost ground.  After entering the back straight when racing in rearward positions KING EMMANUEL and ASTRO HARDY collided heavily resulting in both runners to lose ground.  WITHEREN’S FOOL tired over the concluding stages.

 

Race 2

TAWNY SHIRAZ was slow to begin.  In a general scrimmage approaching the bottom turn all runners with the exception of SPRING DOOLEY, QUARTER TIME and STRONG BREEZE lost ground.

 

Race 3

INTREPID FORCE was slow to begin.  Approaching the 1st turn DASHING TOP HAT was checked losing ground when IRISH FANTASY shifted ground inwards.  Rounding the home turn on the 1st occasion when racing in rearward positions INTREPID FORCE, DASHING TOP HAT and KNOCKERS REVENGE all collided heavily resulting in both DASHING TOP HAT and KNOCKERS REVENGE to lose significant ground.  After entering the back straight when racing in a rearward position DASHING TOP HAT was checked losing ground when KNOCKERS REVENGE shifted ground inwards.  Over the concluding stages NABISCO was held up for clear running.

 

Race 4

KEROMA OH SEVEN and SLEEK AND SMART were slow to begin.  Shortly after the start as a result of HIGH EARNER shifting ground outwards LIKE THE LOOK lost ground.  Rounding the home turn when racing in rearward positions SLEEK AND SMART and KEROMA OH SEVEN collided.

 

Race 5

KALLAN BALE began awkwardly whilst shortly after the start PADDY BELL shifted ground outwards checking RAILWAY MAX which lost ground.  Approaching the bottom turn as a result of BERELLA RIHANNA shifting ground inwards DASHING CORSAIR was tightened for room and lost ground.  A short distance later RAILWAY MAX was tightened for room by KALLAN BALE which resulted in RAILWAY MAX to collide heavily with the running rail and lose significant ground.  Rounding the bottom turn REIGN OVER ME checked off the heels of AZASTAR.  Rounding the home turn until after entering the home straight both PADDY BELL and BERELLA RIHANNA raced tight and bumped. 

 

Race 6

Even start.  Approaching the bottom turn in a general scrimmage ESKIMO DANCER lost ground whilst both FIRE SALE and TEXAS RANGER were forced wider on the track.  Rounding the bottom turn LUVA DRINK and TEXAS RANGER collided heavily with both runners losing ground.  Approaching the 600m boxes TURANZA BALE, ELMA FUD, BOGIE BOMBER and COSMIC RUMBLE all raced tight, then shortly afterwards ELMA FUD and BOGIE BOMBER were tightened for room and lost ground.

 

Race 7

SURF CHARIOT was slow to begin whilst shortly after the start MILLENNIUM, TAKE A SQUIZZ and VELOCETTE collided with TAKE A SQUIZZ losing ground.  Approaching the bottom turn WHIRLY STORM was tightened for room between both TONTO TEARS and MATCHING OUTCOME and lost ground.  At the same stage when racing in rearward positions SURF CHARIOT and TAKE A SQUIZZ collided heavily resulting in both runners to become unbalanced.  Approaching the 600m boxes MATCHING OUTCOME was tightened for room when both VELOCETTE and TONTO TEARS shifted ground inwards.

 

Race 8

No incidents to report.

 

Race 9

Both OAKLAND SPIRIT and ON THE ROPES were slow to begin.  Rounding the 1st turn GENISTA REIGN lost ground when tightened for room between both ON THE ROPES and CODE.  Approaching the bottom turn OAKLAND SPIRIT improved onto the heels of SHE’S THE WORD and dragged that runner down which resulted in OAKLAND SPIRIT to lose ground.  As a result CODE collided heavily with OAKLAND SPIRIT.

 

Race 10

BLAINE BALE, BOSTON’S ELEMENT and DIAMOND SPAR were all slow to begin.  Rounding the 1st turn COUNT THE DOUGH improved onto the heels of PROMISES NOTHING and dragged that runner down.  Approaching the bottom turn in general tightening SACHEEN’S WISH lost ground.  Rounding the bottom turn when racing in a rearward position SACHEEN’S WISH checked off the heels of PROMISES NOTHING and lost ground.
