VETERINARY EXAMINATIONS

 

The following greyhounds were sent to the veterinary surgeon upon completion of their event, but were not found to be suffering any injury.

GENERAL

 

The greyhound JAY JAY’S JET performed a satisfactory stewards’ trial and is now cleared to nominate all tracks except Brisbane for a period including the 28 days suspension from Friday 9 May 2008.

 

Race 1

HEZA SMASH was slow to begin.  ELMA FUD was checked and almost fell shortly after the start after being tightened for room between AWESOME RYLES and SONNET’S JEWEL which was taken out by COOL PYJAMAS.  Approaching the winning post on the 1st occasion WILD WILD WEB was checked after being tightened for room by VINCARO which shifted ground inwards.  ELMA FUD which was following checked off the heels of WILD WILD WEB and lost significant ground.  On the turn out of the home straight WILD WILD WEB shifted ground outwards and checked ELMA FUD which lost ground.  Approaching the catching pen when racing in a rearward position ELMA FUD became unbalanced and lost ground.  ELMA FUD then raced greenly for the remainder of the event.  Stewards spoke to trainer Mr. David Robartson regarding the performance of ELMA FUD in the middle stages of the event.  Mr. Robartson explained the greyhound did suffer interference in the early stages of the race and at a point near the catching pen became unbalanced after receiving tightening.  Stewards noted Mr. Robartson’s comments however advised him that the stewards would be monitoring the performances of ELMA FUD in the future.

 

Race 2

SUPER SHAPE was slow to begin.  Shortly after the start AYE JAY CEE shifted ground outwards and bumped HEPTARCHY.  On the turn out of the home straight CHASTEL was galloped on from behind by AYE JAY CEE which resulted in both runners almost falling and losing significant ground.  HEPTARCHY which was following shifted ground outwards to avoid those runners and lost significant ground.  Approaching the 600m boxes BLACK VISION was tightened for room and as a result lost significant ground.  Rounding the home turn ILLUMINUS and SUPER SHAPE raced tight and bumped for some distance.

 

Race 3

IN REVERSE was slow to begin.  TOO PUZZLED was tightened for room shortly after the start and lost ground.  Approaching the winning post on the 1st occasion TOO PUZZLED shifted ground outwards and hampered IN REVERSE.  Approaching the home turn FAN MAIL shifted ground outwards and brushed IRISH FANTASY.

 

Race 4

KINGSBRAE CURLY and TRENDY CARD were slow to begin.  Approaching the 1st turn BILLY BEE STING and LAHDI DAH were checked after being tightened for room by FLY CONCORD which shifted ground outwards.  A short distance later KINGSBRAE CURLY and BILLY BEE STING collided.  Shortly after entering the home straight ANARCHY which had commenced to tire shifted ground outwards and brushed MUSGRAVE HUEY.

 

 

 

Race 5

BERELLA DIVA shifted ground outwards at the start and hampered BOGIE BLAZE.  On the turn out of the home straight STONE COLD SOBER shifted ground outwards and bumped BECTON which became unbalanced and lost some ground.  After entering the back straight BOGIE BLAZE checked off the heels of BECTON and lost ground.  BECTON and BOGIE BLAZE both raced wide throughout the event.

 

Race 6

RUN JAKE RUN and ULTRA SWIFT were slow to begin.  Passing the winning post on the 1st occasion RUNYA BEACH was galloped on from behind and lost ground.  A short distance later RUN JAKE RUN checked off the heels of RUNYA BEACH and shifted ground outwards checking AMALFI RHYTHM and ULTRA SWIFT.  Passing the catching pen RUNYA BEACH was galloped on from behind by ULTRA SWIFT and lost ground as a result.  Approaching the 600m boxes RUNYA BEACH was checked when tightened for room between RUN JAKE RUN and AMALFI RHYTHM.

 

Race 7

SPACE ODYSSEY and ARABIAN JUJU were slow to begin.  Approaching the home turn on the 1st occasion KATANDRA was checked when tightened for room between SHEOAK MAGPIE and RHETT THE RAT which shifted ground outwards.  A short distance later KATANDRA and SHEOAK MAGPIE bumped resulting in both runners to lose ground.  After entering the home straight on the 1st occasion ARABIAN JUJU shifted ground outwards and checked KATANDRA and BRALYN ANN.  Approaching the catching pen KATANDRA checked off the heels of BRALYN ANN and lost ground.

 

Race 8

On the turn out of the home straight BLACK RULER, BIBSY BOO, TIJUANA WHISPER and TRINTRILOGY all raced tight and bumped for some distance which resulted in BIBSY BOO falling and taking no further competitive part in the event.  As a result of BIBSY BOO falling TIJUANA WHISPER was severely checked and lost significant ground.  After entering the home straight IMPACT ZONE checked off the heels of READY STEADY and as a result became unbalanced.

 

Race 9

LIGHTNING CHANCE, HONEY MIST and PRINCESS JESS were all slow to begin.  Passing the winning post on the 1st occasion PRINCESS JESS was checked after being tightened for room by LIGHTNING CHANCE which shifted inwards.  On the turn out of the home straight HONEY MIST and MADAM SASH bumped.  Over the concluding stages LIGHTNING CHANCE shifted ground outwards and collided heavily with TOKEN PEG which resulted in TOKEN PEG to lose ground.

 

Race 10

PRETTY BOY ZINN and BOUNDING were slow to begin.  ARABIAN FEVER shifted out shortly after the start and bumped LETHAL MARISKA which as a result hampered LEARNED LAD.  On the turn out of the home straight LEARNED LAD ran wide and lost ground .Passing the catching pen LETHAL MARISKA was tightened for room by ARABIAN FEVER which was taken in by TURRAMURRA PARK.
